Called the Bear’s paw in the Balkans, Hogweed is mostly connected to symbols of power, strength and potency.
Urogenital health and libido
In the Balkans, this plant is revered for its beneficial influence on the urogenital tract and prostate problems.
It is known as a man’s plant. It helps with all problems related to the urogenital tracts and prostate, but additionally it has a stimulative effect on potency and libido, especially if impotency is caused by exhaustion, stress, anxiety etc. It is one of the leading aphrodisiacs.
Hogweed was widely employed medicinally by native North American Indian tribes who used it to treat a wide variety of complaints, but especially as a poultice on bruises, sores etc. A poultice of the heated leaves has been applied to minor cuts, sore muscles etc. It has also been used as a wash to remove warts.
Colds & flu
The leaves are tonic, meaning they help our general well-being and aid our optimal functioning. They have been used in the treatment of colds. A soothing drink made from the leaves is used to treat sore throats and diarrhoea.
